It’s finally happened. I’ve finally gotten sick of all the Christmas music in my collection. And to make things worse, I’m searching for new Christmas music, and am hardly finding anything I like.
So I’m calling upon my vast reading audience to help a brother out. This is going to be difficult, because I’m kind of a musical snob. When I like something, I really like it. But when I don’t like it, I don’t just dislike it. I hate it with the burning passion of a thousand suns.
But if you’re up to the challenge, if you have any Christmas music you like, let me know either by commenting here on the blog, or on the Facebook (I find Facebook a lot more fun if I call it “the Facebook”). Actually, you’ll be helping out not only me, but everyone who reads this blog. Here are some guidelines for you…
I’m pretty much going to dislike (with the burning passion of a thousand suns) anything from the country genre.
I like singer/songwriter type of people.
I like music that’s kind of unusual, yet not too unusual. You’ll have to figure out where that balance is.
It can’t be cheesy. I realize cheesy is in the ears of the beholder, but these are my ears we’re talking about. Examples of cheesy Christmas music would be Michael Buble, Wilson Phillips, or anything you might imagine being performed on Glee.
So with those guidelines in mind, let’s get to it, people. Share your Christmas music with us!
