I’m feeling tonight like it’s important to list some of the things in my life I’m thankful for.
This doesn’t mean I’m truly feeling 100% thankful. Actually, I’m feeling tired, kind of sick, worried, frustrated, bored, anticipatory, optimistic, apathetic, sarcastic, and a little hungry. All at this very moment. All that, most days, yet thankful at the same time. What can I say, I’m a complex guy.
Tonight I’m feeling thankful for…
The coolest, most beautiful daughter in the world (who, because of her corporate discount, got me half price at Chili’s tonight);
A creative way to make a modest living. I keep telling myself that modesty is a good thing;
An eclectic network of weird, creative, talented, supportive friends;
A new phase in life – difficult to maneuver – but new;
The two cats who have decided to wander into my house whenever they want;
Having a secure faith. Not without questions, and not without frustrations. But full of amazement at the small piece of it I do understand.
