The Wedding

Today (Saturday) I officiated at the marriage of two great friends, John & Cecelia. These two people were part of my church for many years, as single people. They       s…l….o…w…l…y became friends, and even more s…l…o…w…l…y became a “couple.” Finally, they announced their engagement in January of this year and today I got to perform their ceremony.

Being the kind of person that I am, I took this photo actually DURING the ceremony. I figured – hey, I have a view of the wedding that no one else has, so why not take advantage of it? It’s not like I’d participate in this kind of disrespectful behavior for strangers’ weddings, but these people are like family!!!

So congratulations John & Cecelia. Have a lifetime of fun together.

Yes, What a great time, For a long time, everyone who knows John and Cici asked, “when will these two friends become a couple”. but hey, It was the same way with my wife. We went out on a double date with some friends (my wife wasn’t my date) we talked all night long with our friends looking on saying “why are we here?”. It’s usually the man who doesn’t has a clue when the relationship has moved onto a deeper level. When I finally figured out that I had fallen in love with my best friend, we dated for about a month before my soon to be wife let me know that the relationship needed to evolve or end. It took me about 10 seconds before I asked her to marry me. Well, after 22 years, she is still my best friend. Best wishes to John & Cecelia.

You guys are telling me about how long it took for the two of them to get together, I was in HIGHSCHOOL when they started “hanging out” for crying out loud!!!!! Well at the very least I can say that that as long as it took, it was well worth the wait ( all though a year or two ago wouldn’t of been asking for too much, would it?) I am so very happy for my mom and John to have finally gotten married and I wish them NOTHING BUT THE BEST!!! Love you guys =)

Well I am glad to say that John & Ceceila have been more like family to us. John has taken the role of protector and enforcer for Christina if anyone even thinks about doing her wrong. So thanks John for taking on this big role. Cece you have always been there to talk and am glad I could be there to help you. It was my pleasure because you are like a sister to me. I am so blessed to be included in your celebration and I know that the wait was worth it. I hope you have a lifetime of love and happy memories. God has trulely put you in this marriage so your marriage is God blessed.

Your wedding was humorous and enlighting. Just the way you have always been. Your vows were heartfelt and had a lesson for all.

But your reception was fun and full of laughter also the food was pretty good.

But best of all was seeing all of our family together (Our Hope Family). We all seem to get back together now and then so thanks for getting married it was about time we had a good party.

    Love you guys,

    Debbie Hahn

What a happy event it was!! John and Cece, this darling couple, finally tying the knot! 🙂 Their marriage can only be blessed because they truly sought the Lord and waited on Him. Yay! A double blessing was to be with our precious Hope family again!!!! The love and deep connection is still there, and of course we can’t help but have fun! Craig and Kimmy (who was so sad she couldn’t be there due to her band commitment!) always refer to our Hope life as, “The good old days.” Seeing Craig having so much fun talking and hanging out with his Hope family peeps was such a gift! I’m so thankful for all the love and grace we’ve all shared. Saturday was just pure joy. God bless John and CeCe, and to all our precious Hope family. We love you!! XO Cindy for the Shields (and yes, that includes Perry, John’s former boyfriend!) heehee 🙂
