In an attempt to move with the cool people who use Facebook, I want to start a new Facebook group. A Facebook group, for those of you who aren’t familiar, is a group of people who use Facebook and have started their own little online clique of people who share a common like, or a common dislike, or a common cause, or just being common.
So I’m asking my vast reading audience to help me come up with a new Facebook group. Some of the ideas I have are:
People who haven’t read the “Twilight” books;
People who don’t normally go to Christian bookstores, but are Christians anyway;
People who refuse to play “Bennie & the Jets” on the piano at Christmas parties;
People who are OK with taking “no” for an answer, if taking “yes” for an answer is too much trouble;
People who had to perform “High School Musical” at least 14 times;
People who would rather go through the day sleepy than drink bad coffee;
People who didn’t vote for Obama, but still don’t think he’s the Antichrist;
People who should have been selected as Vice President but weren’t;
People who can’t stand Churches That Don’t Matter;
People with trash pickup on Thursdays;
People who wear reindeer antlers, and not necessarily just at Christmas
Well, that’s just a few ideas to get us started. Hopefully we can come up with an awesome group that will grow into an actual movement and change the world – virtually (ha ha).
Oh my gosh…I would join jsut about ALL of the above cliques you’ve mentioned (and I WOULD wear reinder antlers all year round if I didn’t forget and pack them away each year!) The only groups I couldn’t be in are the High School Musical, “bad coffee” and Thursday trash pick-up. Other than that…sign me up!!! Can we please start this group, too?
People who hate poorly written and performed Christian drama (and worse yet, comedy!) OY, don’t get me started! Here’s a line that Perry just had to read in last Sunday’s play at church: “Gosh, it must have been a silent night…a holy night.” AAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!! XO
Okay, here’s another gem delivered with great self-control by Perry, “All I know is that I could really use a holiday from this holiday!” And lastly (in explaining the kind of gift he wants to get for his mother), “It has to be beautiful and unusual and well, I don’t know…just glorious!” That was the subtle clue for the “carolers” to sing, “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing!” OY!!! XO
