The Good Moments

Today I was teaching a guitar student, and there was a moment when she got it. It was a little thing she needed to do with her left hand, and it wasn’t making sense to her, and she struggled with it, and then all of a sudden it worked and a sound came out of her own guitar that she had never made before.

And the look on her face is a big part of why I like to teach music.

This is the same reason I like helping my son with his math homework. Not for the satisfaction of getting him to complete his work, but for the “AHA” look on his face when he figures it out. Thanks Charlie!
