I’m finishing up a research project for Biola University on the subject of leading large-scale change in organizations.

Along the way, I’ve found a few helpful quotes, which I’ll share with my vast readership (which is rapidly approaching double digits)…

“Make sure you’re solving the right problem” (Deep & Sussman, “Smart Moves for People in Charge”)

“A leader is, by definition, an innovator. He does things other people haven’t done or don’t do” (Bennis, “On Becoming a Leader”)

“If organizations are to make progress, leaders must be able to see when routines are smothering creative planning and blocking necessary advancement” (DePree, “Leadership Jazz”)

Of course, as good as those insights are, they pale in comparison to the immortal words of Nehemiah:  “You see the trouble we are in… Let’s rebuild!!”
