At a secular school, there are regular times the entire student body “assembles” together for announcements, plus a little song-a-little-dance-a-little-seltzer-down-your-pants (a reference to the old “Mary Tyler Moore Show”). All in roughly an hour.
These times when we “assemble” are called “ASSEMBLIES.”
At a Christian school, there are also regular times when the entire student body “assembles” together for announcements, plus a little song-a-little-dance-a-little-seltzer-down-your-pants, PLUS something inspirational. All in roughly 30 minutes.
These times when we “assemble” are called “CHAPEL.” But it’s pretty much the same as “ASSEMBLY.”
