It’s 6:12 am, and I need to start getting ready to work. Instead, I’m doing this. Why?

Because I just had 4 days off and I’m not motivated to go back!!

It’s not my fault. I’m not the one who makes the calendar for both schools. I’m not the one who schedules holidays. I have to abide by the schedule they make. And this is the outcome – a lack of motivation.

So here’s my new work idea – I don’t want to go in anymore. However – and this is critical to the plan – I still want to get paid. I’d like them to pay me to hang out at hone, or wherever I want to hang out as long as I promise to think about work during at least part of that time.

Sounds not only reasonable, but innovative and creative. And what organization doesn’t appreciate innovativeness and creativity? At least they all say they do.

So if anyone reads this who has power to make that change, please work on that. In the meantime, it’s time to actually get moving now.
