Thanks so much to those who have either a) already donated to my Uganda trip for July, or b) have said they will donate. At this moment (5:36 pm Pacific Time, April 6, 2010), I’m about one-fourth of the way there.
I don’t mean I’m actually one-fourth of the way geographically to Uganda (I think that would put me somewhere on the East Coast, and I’m still very much in So Cal). What I mean is, I’m about one-fourth of the way to the funding I need.
We have about 3 weeks left to come up with the rest of the moolah. You know, in all the years of this blog (both here and in the former slum blog neighborhood, Blogspot), I’ve never actually used the word “moolah” before. So this is a great day. Anyway, I digress. There’s about 3 weeks left, and if the funding isn’t there, I won’t go.
**So here’s the part I want to be really careful about. Please read this carefully, because I don’t want to be misunderstood. The above paragraph is NOT intended as a pressure, manipulation thing at all. It’s just INFORMATION. It’s just to let you know that if you’ve been thinking about donating to the trip, or you’ve been planning to but haven’t, or if you’ve even told me you’re going to but haven’t, whatever – you have about three weeks.
Anyway, that’s about it. If you did not get an email from me about this, it’s because either a) I don’t have an email address for you, or, b) I didn’t think you’d want to get an email about this. But I could have been wrong. So if I sent you an email and you didn’t want one – too late! But if you didn’t get an email from me about this, and you want more info, contact me at email@example.com and I’ll get back to you.
**P.S. – Just the fact that I used the word “moolah” for the first time on this blog ought to be worth some money right there. Come on, get out those checkbooks, people.
