A few hours ago, I was waiting in line at a store, and my glance fell to the most recent People magazine on the rack. There is a big picture on the cover of the most recent couple from “The Bachelor,” whose names are apparently Brad & Emily.

The “smaller” story on the cover is about people suffering from the Japan earthquake and tsunami, and there is a small photo in the upper left corner of that.

So the “big” story – the couple who decided on the “The Bachelor” that they were perfect for each other, and were going to be soulmates forever, are sadly having some little relationship troubles.  Who could have seen that coming.

And the “small” story – people are struggling in Japan, with no food, water or shelter, and thousands of people are still missing.

And that cover summarizes so much of what’s wrong with our culture.
