In the not-too-distant past, I used to occasionally write “thankful” blog posts… just for the purpose of letting my readers know (and reminding myself) of the good things that are going on. So this is one of those posts.

But a little word about the whole “thankful” thing. There will probably never be a time when everything is working as we want it to. There will never be a time when we can’t think of something that needs to be fixed, or some problem we can’t figure out. There will never be a time when everyone likes us or we like everyone. Basically, something will always be wrong. Sorry to be the one to tell you that.

But the good news is, if we’re willing to see it, there is always something to be thankful for. And if we’re willing to not only see it but to go a step further and express it, I’ve found that to be very healing and strengthening. In my rambling way, I’m saying being thankful not only makes people want to be around you, it’s actually good for you as well.

With that said, here are some of the things I’m thankful for at the moment…

I have a 21-yr-old daughter who still wants to hang out with me;

Because of the generosity and passion of a lot of people, I’m on my way to serve people on the other side of the world;

U2, baby! Tomorrow. Just saying;

I get to do really creative work for a living. And, somehow always manage to have just enough of that creative work to keep things going;

I don’t have any Canadian hockey fans rioting anywhere near my house;

Trader Joe’s Coffee;

And a lot of other things. I hope you are occasionally writing your own list, too.
