We keep them when they don’t work anymore, and drive ourselves crazy. That’s what pens and Christmas lights have in common. Just like that drawer in our kitchen or our desk that has 19 pens in it, 17 of which don’t work but we keep them anyway and try all of them out when we need a pen, and throw the 17 bad ones BACK IN THE DRAWER, we have boxes containing
random strings of Christmas lights, many of which no longer work, but rather than throwing them away we throw them BACK IN THE BOX.
That’s what Christmas lights and pens have in common.
